There's been a remote locking black hole in Windermere for some time now, the news finally got slow enough for it to be reported:

I actually know what's causing it, but the local hardware store I used to work at is selling loads of batteries, and the garage where Dad and my brother work are getting loads of call outs. So I'm not telling a sole.

I've actually had my car do it, but I know how to get in when it happens.

Similar thing happened to a mate in his 200sx in Goathland.

He couldn't unlock the door via the fob so had to do it manually. This in turn set off the alarm and had to drive out of the area so that he could disable the alarm. Whilst doing so he had a phone call from the tracker people saying his car had been stolen :p

Usually does the trick, yes.

Which sort of begs the question, who is calling out your Dad and the breakdown services mentioned in the report?

Unless you have keyless go with no idea you are actually carrying a key blade as well, how are people stumped by this?

A lot of cars have no key hole visible, usually it's under the rear portion of the handle, the owners just don't know.

So I'm not telling a sole.

Why would you hide it from a sole? Fish don't have cars, and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't give a toss anyway?

Or perhaps you meant 'soul'. In which case, why would a reasonably inoffensive car made by Kia give a toss?

;)

My cars are keyless/hidden locks. It's not like they are hidden under the wheel arch or something. Logically, they are by the handles.

This is depressing.

We had an issue like this, it turned out to be the local taxi rank had fitted a bigger antenna without planning permission.

That got sorted pretty quickly.

I mean stuff like this:

Where's the keyhole? Under the left portion of the handle.

I know what you mean, they either pop or swivel. And right by where a lock would be. Do people buy cars and assume the manufacturer leaves entry to a vehicle down to a fob/battery?

Actually, don't answer that.
