Windforce 670 X3 SLI

Hmm still don't know about this

You'll be perfectly fine with a corsair 650W PSU, don't worry and enjoy your system.

The rating of the PSU is what it can supply to your system and not what it pulls from the wall. What I measured was what it pulled from the wall.
So I would guess the worst case in a game for my system is ~400W and having 250W headroom is a lot, it has no chance of reaching the rated limit and even at that the rated limit is not the actual limit. You will still be in a good range for efficient operation.

They may have actually will have to check tomorrow, Because I don't know why but on Saints row on Ultra it drops to like 50 FPS sometimes no idea why it can't sustain 60 FPS.

I also don't like how these cards work, they don't run at 100 percent all the time, so On battlefield sometimes it drops to 55 FPS then gets back up to 60 FPS with more GPU usage.

You could be getting the stutter bug:

Nvidia link to the problem, but it's 1200+ posts long:

Also information available here:

And-

Gregster set up a specific thread looking more into what games/setups were being affected:

Tommy it's not stuttering, it's just on Battlefield 3 some times my GPU only has to work at 60 percent to give me 60 FPS but when it needs more GPU power the FPS drops to 55 then the GPU percentage goes up to ensure it's 60 FPS I just wish the card would stay at 100 percent all the time but hey ho.

Off topic but interested to know what temp your top card is compared to the other card in your sli setup.

Plus is ther fan Loud in sli?

Cheers

Well I had 6970 CF so a single 670 would be a slight downgrade and I wanted more power!!! :P

The fans become audible for me at about 43% (70C-71C on auto fan) when running heaven with no audio on. In a game there is no chance of me hearing them which is a large improvement over the 6970's. However the difference in heat between the 670's is about 10C with the top card recycling the bottom cards exhausted air (single slot gap between them) which is something I am trying to sort out. Still the top card will only reach about 72C and drop maybe 13MHz because of it.

Also I've not seen any stutter but I don't use vsync.

But would keep my games at 60 FPS which is why I bought this card mate, Heat isn't a issue I have a windforce for that, power isn't going to increase that much and meh when it dies I'll buy 780.

No card will run 100 percent if you have the fps capped to 60 and its capable of more. Did you try playing without vsync? Even then a card won't always run 100 percent, it depends how much demand is put on the card by the game. It's odd though that when it drops in fps the power usage increases. This is probably because more demand has been put on the card, so the fps dips a bit before power usage increases. I'm sure this is how it is on all cards though. If you didn't use vsync the drop would not only be less but it would be from say 90 to 85 which would be less noticeable than 60 to 55.

Have you tried setting a custom fan profile? Noise will be a bit higher, but if you game with headphones it shouldnt be too much of an issue.
