Ubuntu payed the MS goons, but all with out a sig., can not boot on a sys with Win11, I mean it is better for Windows security, but it locks out having a lot of freedom.

Not tried myself, I know from experience that trying to install win10 when you already have Linux installed it a PITA .

So I dare say this will be too. I just don't think I have it in me to try win11.

Is win11 officially released now then ?

Installed Win 11 on my PC this weekend alongside Ubuntu, Win 10 and Manjaro and all four are working fine. MSI motherboard set to Legacy+UEFI boot. I didn't do any special tricks to get around TPM (which I had enabled); I've not verified if the TPM2.0 is active or not, but I assume it is (albeit potentially being undermined by legacy being active). Using Manjaro Grub as my boot menu, although on the occasions I do boot into Windows I do then have to go through the Windows boot selector (10 or 11).

Perhaps I've done something egregious with my boot-time security, but I figure it's probably no worse than it was previously, it just might be no better.

Hope this gives some confidence to others, albeit your mileage may vary.

Well this is something else to put in the "won't be doing this yet" box... Currently dual booting Ubuntu for all my coding and Win10 for everything else... I wonder what would happen if I upgraded 10 to 11...

I had the exact same setup (Pop OS instead of Ubuntu) and the upgrade to Windows 11 didn’t break anything. Seems like the option is only required for fresh installs.

Obviously always a risk of something going wrong with a major update, but I can’t see it damaging your Ubuntu boot partition.
