I'm having problems getting xp to boot. When the "Welcome to Windose" screen comes up it just freezes.

Any suggestions?

I had this problem on a customer's machine.

It wouldn't even boot up into Safe Mode.

The only way round it was to repair the XP installation, backup all the important files, and clean the slate with XP and did a clean installation.

I think your problem was because you were trying to boot Windose when you should have been trying Windows.

Aw I was hoping nobody would have made a joke about that yet. :(

Ive had to switch to windows 64 as not only would xp not work properly when it loaded, it got to the point that i couldnt even install it.

Funny i know, there is'nt any reason why that should be so, but it would spit its dummy out and blue screen when it came to windows set up.

No, the disc is fine, the computer just stopped working with XP altogether this morning, i've spent all day arsing around trying to get it to work when i couldnt waste any more time with it as i need it for my banking tommorow, so i shoved xp64 on here and low and behold eveythign is fine.

Managed to get drivers for everything as well.
