window 7 64 bit to windows 8 pro useing upgrade assistant

hi guys simple question here ! i want windows 8 pro 64 bit....if i use the upgrade assistant from the microsoft store will my windows 7 home premium 64 bit go to windows 8 pro 64 bit or will i end up with the 32 bit version of win 8 pro ? thanks in advance

64 to 64. It did on mine. I guess it needs to if your doing an in place upgrade, how else will your 64bit programs work?

I went though the upgrade advisor and downloaded the ISO and did a new clean install.

I have just done mine and has gone from win7x64 ton win8prox64.

when you did a new clean install did you use the option 3 nothing ? when asked ? :confused:
