Great help from here in setting up two SATA drives, one is XP the other is Vista.

However I'm in a bit of a pickle...

After much messing around I have the following

SATA 1 - XP

SATA 2 - Vista

All good so far except when I boot my PC from SATA 1 I get an options screen with either "Previous Version of WIndows" (which is the correct XP install) or Install Setup (which looks like a Vista type boot menu. I did have a Vista install to SATA 2 hang so it keeps trying to reinstall I guess, hence the options

Looked at various ways to remove this so I boot into XP when SATA 1 selected from pressing F8 but Fixmbr on SATA 1 didn't work so help .....please.

...and it worked...many thanks. Now to plug the SATA 2 back in (Vista) and see what happens......not sure what to expect in terms of boot menus now or whatever.....

Tres cool...it works and I press F8 during boot to select the Vista drive if I want, the PC default boots to the XP drive first. I want it that way so the wife doesn't get baffled by having to choose between XP or Vista on a boot menu. I only intend to use the Vista drive to play DX 10 games like Shadowrun for now

Cheers matey....
