Hey,

Im thinking about adding window film to my Pug 106 on the back window and the 2 back side ones?

Any sites where I can buy this from and what % / Darkness you think I should get and is legal.

Thanks,

isnt the law that you have to have windows that let about 70% of light through

also, do you want them pre made for a 106, or just a roll where you cut it yourself?

You can use total blackout on windows behind the driver. It gives the same visability as car based vans. (naff all)

I dont know where to get them pre made for 106 or buy a roll of film.

Either way I will take it to a garage and get em to put in on for me.

Please could you tell me where I could get the pre made one from and the roll from?

Please.

As dark as you like on the rears and something like 50% on the front 2 i was told when i had them done on thursday at a local place

I thought that any film tunt was now illegal on front side windows

Pretty much.

You *can* tint the front windows as long as it still allows 70% visible light transmission. The problem is that a lot of cars already have 28% tint so good luck trying to find a 2% tinting film :D

Yeah you can go as dark as you like behind the front side windows, but for the front your allowed to tint the windows to 70% i.e. blocks out 30% light.

But i think this rule is only for cars tinted before 2002 or might be 2004? after that date your not allowed to tint the fronts at all. But if your car was made before 2002 whos going to know you've done them since the new law came into affect.

How much do garages cost to tint your windows? If i bought the film?

Thanks,

suppose you could work it out , they charge 250-300 for a full job so deduct the cost of film from that and you won't be far off

Yeah, but the film we'd use costs 15 quid a roll, the garages use stuff that costs a bit more.

You probably won't get any guarantee due to them not knowing the durability of the product, if you provide your own.

If you are going to pay someone to do it, you may aswell have it done properly, imo.

Could help with security as well couldnt it, since all the windows but the front shatter so easily

Just my two cents, but I've found a tinted rear window hampers your 360º road awareness massively. My WRX has it and I feel half blinded in my rear view, I hate it. But each to their own I guess.

Yes but you can have sex in the back and less people see you?
