Any Berkshire residents out there who could recommend me a window fitter or two? Looking to have the whole house done and pretty much know what I want, but need to find someone who will do a quality job at a sensible price.

I’ve done the usual Google and suchlike but I prefer to work off recommendations.

Thanks!

I used a company called Wright Glazing, based in Cheam Surrey, but will cover Berkshire if the job is a whole house etc.

Not the cheapest, but top quality and service - you get what you pay for. I am in Berkshire and they did a great job.

Exactly the sort of glowing recommendation I like - thank you, I’ll give them a shout.

Berkshire's a big place, west, Reading-ish or Slough-ish?
J10 of M4 Berkshire. But I’d expect a quality fitter to cover the whole county, so physical location might not matter that much?

My property is between M3 j3 and M4 j10 so they will do your house. There were cheaper, one from Bracknell who was half the price, Wright were the most expensive quote, but the window quality was better than anything else I saw.

Do you recall the type of glazing you had fitted? I’ve seen both Profile 22 and System 10 from decent fitters and the usual assortment of no name, lowest common denominator stuff from the hard sell and rush job fitters.

I don't I am afraid, but here is a pic or 2 after fitting. The house is rented so I wasn't actually there during fitting, but the neighbours and tenants told me the fitters were great, and was pleased with the job when I saw it. Box sash at the front, and casement at the back.

Hazelmere should be with me this weekend but unfortunately Wright wouldn't make the trip to Bracknell, which I can understand due to it being a fair bit outside their normal catchment area.

Anyone know the different between System 10 and Profile 22? Or if there are other brands/products that I should be looking at?

Right, so I've gone through a few options and pricing all seems to be roughly in-line with each other.

Hazlemere were lovely and fit a 6-chambered system, but only offer windows with a sculptured bead and I really don't like the look. 4 of the other fitters supply Koemmerling C70 Gold, and unsurprisingly are roughly the same in terms of price.

The last fitter is offering me Veka System 10, which like the Koemmerling is a 5-chambered system.

Any thoughts on Koemmerling vs System 10?
