Why don’t all developers put Window mode into their games, or if they do it’s aspect locked like dishonoured. I do like to run my games in Window mode if using two screens and not only that window mode normally means you don’t need v sync enabled which usually results in no screen tearing…

But a few, even recent games either do not support window mode, or when they do are locked and you cannot get borderless window mode working.

Borderless window mode is fantastic for having the game on one screen, and firefox and all other stuff on another screen, and ALT TAB works better..

Alan Wake borderless window mode – unlimited fps, fullscreen screen tear or you use triple buffering and v sync = input lag.

Dishonoured – full screen works, but window mode, borderless won’t work as when in a window doesn’t display a full 1920 x 1080 it seems to shrink it down.

Assassins Creed 3 – well that simply will not work in window mode at all

Crysis 2 and 3 – perfect examples of how it should be. Borderless Window mode, no v – sync, not input lag ATL TAB, two screens one with game, one with other stuff, works fine.

These are just a few examples, even F1 2012 don’t work correctly, its just a shame in this day and age, something as simple as window mode doesn’t work with modern games.

Ive found windowed mode crashes my fps (GTX 670)

And increases the temps dramatically, this is in games such as far cry 3 and BF3 by the way lol. Even in fullscreen (Windowed)

Its fine for lesser games though :)

I'd always love to have borderless or windowed, i have 2 screens. Its a nightmare when playing Hitman absolution, you have to hit the windows key and the start menu should close it. Sometimes it closes then opens again, its a real pain just to minimize it for 30 seconds, so much trouble when i could just pause it and slide the mouse off.

I think every game should include it personally.

+1 for Windowed mode

Both World of Warcraft and World of Tanks have excellent windowed support including Aspect Ratio Selection and Full Screen windowed modes.
