Window tint

Cheers, the reason i ask is because some vids on youtube put it on the outside, some on the inside and some on both sides :s
The actual process looks fairly straight forward, just asking as i have a few decal stickers on the outside on my rear window i dont want to take off, so if it goes on the inside its all good.

Cheers

It goes on the inside, you just cut it to size on the outside as it is allot harder to trim it on the inside.

I managed to do mine, i did go through 2 rolls as I buggered it up a few times with silly mistakes but even after wasting 2 rolls of tint it was still much cheaper than getting it done by a tinting company and I now know how to do it. :)

Related question, not worth it's own thread:

Are there any tinting people/products, anywhere, who can tint over the dotted pattern that most windows have around their edges these days without the result looking like complete crap.

If your going to give it a go yourself try some precut tint, I did it to mine coz I too am a minge bag and I took my time cleaning etc and the outcome is really good.
I'm normally quite fussy too :)

All im going to say is get a spray bottle n make up some neat soapy water. helps wonders. Dont go crazy tho

What car is it kenny? unless it's a maybach or something like that, tints may look a little out of place... :p

Its a saxo mate  Chav mobile lol

And i got the precut tint film from a well known auction site for my specific car so i dont have to cut it myself, which also comes with a spare roll for practice.

the 2 rear seat windows come out no bother, just 3 screws so am going to take them off to tint them, just the rear window that i can see being a hassle :p

Does the tint just stick to the window when it dries?

a known trick is to paint the dotted area with black paint before tinting the window.

Did a set on one of my very old escorts.
Removed all windows got some water spray used a lot of this got into right position.
Then used a very sharpe blade to cut of excess, Was'nt hard but with it being my first attempt it took a while.
Also used some clear nail varnish to seal the edges, never had a single bubble and non of it pealed either.
Was a bugger to remove at a later date lol.
