Window xp prob

Hi im wondering if someone could give some advice on how to solve this problem ?

8/10 times i open mycomputer->and then choose one of my two internal backup Hd to explore the window frezzes and ultimatetly ends in me terminating the window via task manager.Ive got the latest xp updates and am running Nod32 av.Ive scanned the system with it,Mbam and Sas nothing is found any ideas it neither used to do this?

Nope nowhere near full over 200gb free on each.
No from what i can tell.
