Windows 10 and Start is back

Not used the start menu as a start menu in years. It just serves as a search box now. It would in fact be nice if MS would put something like Spotlight (OSX) in - just a simple launcher and get rid of the start button all together.

I just upgraded to Windows 10 and found the new start to be a complete pig to work with, just installed Start is Back and am delighted with the trial so may upgrade to full version after trying it for a bit longer.

^^ Enable the extra tile, remove everything that is on the start menu by default and its actually quite useful - if somewhat rubbish implementation in terms of efficient functions to customise it.

I've got 3 groups (start menu setup 1 group wide) the top one small tiles for stuff like control panel, regedit, other settings dialogs, etc. second group uses large or wide tiles for stuff like news, weather, calender/scheduler type stuff and the 3rd one at the bottom quick links for utilities like calculator, character map, etc.

Windows still has a Start Menu? :p

Anything that isn't pinned to my task bar is found by hitting the Win key and just typing its name.

love the start menu, though i never actually navigate through it.. it's just a case of pressing the key, then typing first few letters and starting the program.
