Windows 10 background flickers when in windowed game

and noticed if i set my game to boot up in windows mode, the desktop background starts to flicker a bit.

I'm not sure what it is. I have the monitor set to 144mhz and it doesnt do it when im outside of a game. Am I missing a setting somewhere?

If your monitor is set to 144 MHz that might explain things...

Assuming you mean it's set to 144 Hz, I've actually seen the opposite issue, where if I play in windowed mode, the game itself flickers black every few seconds. The desktop is fine, and if I play in fullscreen mode it's fine too. Weird.
