I recently upgraded to windows 10 and now semi-reguarly get BSODs when using the computer. After checking event viewer there are a number of warnings in system events 'task scheduler service found a misconfiguration in the NT TASK\Microsoft\Windows' then either in the media center or the Microsoft antimalware directory in the windows folder. Any ideas what is causing these issues?

Have you tried scanning with MalwareBytes to make sure there's nothing installed on the system that shouldn't be there?

I believe that Win10 no longer has any media center built into it, so maybe it's getting confused... might be worth uninstalling the media player.

like I can't find this file at all on my system

Task Scheduler service found a misconfiguration in the NT TASK\Microsoft\Windows\Media Center\ActivateWindowsSearch definition. Additional Data: Error Value: %SystemRoot%\ehome\ehPrivJob.exe.

or this one or any of them

Task Scheduler service found a misconfiguration in the NT TASK\Microsoft\Microsoft Antimalware\Microsoft Antimalware Scheduled Scan definition. Additional Data: Error Value: c:\Program Files\Microsoft Security Client\MpCmdRun.exe.

Ok... it sounds like the task scheduler is trying to run 2 programs, but can't find them. If you run task scheduler, you should be able to see a list of tasks on the left hand side (arranged in folders). If you scan down to locate Microsoft\Windows\Media.. etc it should provide you with a list of all the tasks it's attempting to run. You can the right click on it and disable it,

I should add that i'm not sure if this will actually solve the BSOD... might be worth:

lowering any overclock you have to see if that helps with stability
reinstalling display drivers
reinstalling anything else you can think of

did you us MS Media centre prior to upgrade?

If so:

You delete the following registry key entirely (shown underlined in BOLD)

Just right click on the key name 'Media Center' and select delete from the context menu.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Schedule\TaskCache\Tree\Microsoft\Windows\Media Center

Once you've deleted the above registry key do the following:

Go to the C:\Windows\System32\Tasks\Microsoft\Windows folder and delete the Media Center folder.

Then you will be able to delete the Media Center task folder within the Task Scheduler.

If you're unsure how to do this you should probably not attempt to do so, incorrect editing of your registry may render your system inoperable!

Great. It's things like this that make me always prefer a completely clean install (accepting the pain of having to stick all the software back on)

I don't know if its before or after the crash but event viewer records an error with this message

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000139 (0x0000000000000003, 0xfffff8005fe2e880, 0xfffff8005fe2e7d8, 0x0000000000000000). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 3c4fc69d-2aeb-4755-959f-0d9bc9dbccea.
