Windows 10 Clean install help

I'm currently on Windows 7 on a HD and want to do a clean install of windows 10 onto a new ssd and basicaly have everything on that. Also I'll use the HD to keep my files safe during the transition.
Thinking of this one.

To install windows 10, I need to upgrade from win 7 and then do a clean install but how can I with just the new SSD and disconnecting the old HD or I'm missing something? Thanks.

Could I Clone my HD to my SSD and then do a clean install? I don't have a windows 7 cd.
