Hey guys,

Hope this is the right place for this post. ;)

Got a new laptop on the way,It comes with Windows 10 Home.

It has a slow 5400rpm hard drive,I've already put in an order for a Kingston
120GB SSD from here so il be replacing that slow hard drive.

Just wondering,Do i clone the 5400RPM hard drive straight away to the new SSD or should i start up the laptop first, let it do its windows setup and all first with the normal HDD..then clone?

Or should i just skip all the clone stuff,Put in the SSD drive and make a Windows 10 bootable USB stick and do a fresh install of windows 10?

The windows key is in the BIOS now correct?

My concern is windows activation.

Defo fresh mate, any issues activating it the support team will help you out... One thing to watch out for is making sure its fully up to date for the latest build once installed as some builds wont activate on the old product key. Just create a USB boot of it, works a treat.

Put the SSD in and a fresh install of Windows 10, the activation will be taken care of automatically as Win10 licences are encoded on the m/b.
