Windows 10 Cumulative update huge?

I am a complete novice so apologies if this is a stupid post but be gentle with me.

I’ve got my first laptop, nothing posh and it’s running Windows 10 Home. I’ve got Bitdefender as my AV instead of Defender and it’s done a vulnerability scan and tells me the following update is available but it’s huge! It says it 84.7GB, surely that can’t be correct? Will my internet provider have a mare at me if I download this?

2020-10 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 2004 for x64 based systems (KB4579311)

Thanks in advance for any guidance. I’ve stuck it on pause for now!

It should be Windows telling you about the upgrade, not Bitdefender.

I’ve checked Windows itself and it’s also telling me but it doesn’t give a file size. Should I just let it do it’s thing?

Yes. 85 GB is just wrong. Are you sure it isn't 8.47 GB?

lol, no that's not right. KB4579311 is around 350-370Mb.

Maybe Bitdefender have put their decimal place in the wrong spot. It definitely says 84.7gb.

'Do its thing', fills me with trepidation, if I had a spare 5 years I would love to find out just what 'additional security measures' the MS team has conived up this time. All legal and above board obviously.

Only if your machine is already up to date. If its a device thats been floating around the OcUK stock room with OEM 1809 on it, 2004 update will be significantly larger
