Windows 10 - data corruption issues

Since W10 (and I do like it) I have had lots of file corruptions (system and “unable to open ...user/desktop/ as location is corrupt or unreadable), and on at
least three occassions (in 3 months) the start menu has stopped working (won't pop up) and some taskbar icons have dissappeared (usually at the same time as start menu error), mail and edge won't open, backup option becomes unavaliable, and windows update won't install up dates. Not all of the above at the same time but each issue has happen multiple times quite a short period.

With my Samsung Evo 250 GB ssd im getting data corruption, windows apps stops working and windows 10 can no longer start issues due to corruption of system files.

I have run many tests on my ssd:

Samsung Magician says drive is healthy.
SeaTools 'long test' says 100% pass
memtest on my RAM passes all tests
chkdsk (when getting errors but windows still bootable) says no errors
sfc (when getting errors but windows still bootable) says 100% ok
Malwarebytes (when getting errors but windows still bootable) nothing found
windows defender (when getting errors but windows still bootable) nothing found

Any ideas as to what may be causing corruption of system files on my hard drive?

Bad RAM? (but it passed memtest test )

My rams: Kingston 2x8gb Kingston Hyperx 1600

Cpu is 3770K and psu Corsair 850 RM.

Windows 10 is installed due to MBR partition. Motherboard is Sabertooth Z97 Mark 1 UEFI.

Yes ram and cpu at stock. All correct settings in UEFI.

Any ideas as to what may be causing corruption of system files on my hard drive?

So i am after format ,this time with GPT partition. I installed again clean install of Windows 10. All is fine. But i have a question. Why it get corrupted before format? Still hardware issue or software?

Last question . I am very interested where was issue. Also before format i was unable to run Event Viewer and task manager . They was not responding. That was related to hardware or software?

But like i said memtest86 showing not errors, and SDD status is 100% heathly.

Maybe it is my SSD? Somebody said to me this:"in my case it was 100% hardware issue, specifically the ssd.

many SSDs are know to slow down over time, usually in certain regions of thr drive, sometime the slow down can be so severe that data fail to be read completly.

i have 2 crucial m4 ssds:
1. requires refresh (or format) every 2~3 months.
2. requires refresh (or format) every 12~18 months."

So maybe that was my ssd fault? What you think?

So maybe it was SSD fault or something? Maybe something with SSD ? But it working fine with GPT partition now. So why it get corrupted with MBR then? So why it not worked well with MBR then ?

What you think? But Samsung Magician Smart tells that are fine.

Ah and i forget. Almost everytime when i was clicking run 3dmark11.exe test, my system become unresponsible and laggish. I cant do almost everything. I cant restart system because START button stop working.
Opening some file taking 10 second. I must force hard reset to work properly again system. Almost everytime
when i was clicking run test in 3dmark 11 causing this issue. After long wait i was ablee to check usage of cpu ,ram and disk, and was 0%.
So where was the problem? Software , my disk or ram?

But after format is ok.

Somebody said to me this:"had a crucial SSD once do this,
randomly says files are corrupted, and for example, fails to load user profile, and slow down when reading some files, and then later they work fine."

What you think that issue was related to my ssd? Or not ?

I had fresh clean install of Windows 10 Pro in MBR scheme . I want to know what caused this.

Disk was formatted due to MBR partition.

My disk is Samsung Evo 250 GB , and 2x8gb Kingston Hyperx 1600mhz.

Smart on disk is fine, GOOD status in Samsung MAgician and no errors in HD TUNE. Memtest86 not showing errors.

After format to GPT and install again Windows 10 all is fine and working properly. Just want to know what caused issue before format. Thx. It was related to windows/software or hardware?

I made topic because some people told me that this issue was caused by faulty ssd.

Here is what he said:

"
had a crucial SSD once do this,
randomly says files are corrupted, and for example, fails to load user profile, and slow down when reading some files, and then later they work fine.

when some data fails to read on one day, and then the next day it is read fine, it is 99% likely to be the ssd.

in my case it was 100% hardware issue, specifically the ssd.

But after format is ok.

You said about memory. So it can be caused by memory not neccesary sdd?

Because of the way Windows systems fill their registry with crap over time, it's quite possible to corrupt a registry, repair the system, have it look like it's all working fine, and then find constant niggles and problems. Nothing looks broken in the hardware, all utils say the OS is OK, but really things are screwed up at a fundamental and subtle level, and only a reformat and reinstall will fix things.

It's like a corrupted database that you've repaired so it all cheksums as correct, but the data in the database is wrong and corrupted. If your database is the core of your OS telling it how to run everything and access every device, then anything can happen.

If you've been running the same OS for years, moving it from one device to another, using clean-up tools to fix things in the event of OS/disk error, etc then these problems can sneak in, and at some point nothing beyond a clean reinstall will fix things.

So what you mean ? It was a hardware failure?

But listen.

But somebody said to me this:
"One of GPT's features is better reliability for its partition info: "On an MBR disk, the partitioning and boot data is stored in one place. If this data is overwritten or corrupted, you’re in trouble. In contrast, GPT stores multiple copies of this data across the disk, so it’s much more robust and can recover if the data is correupted. GPT also stores cyclic redundancy check (CRC) values to check that its data is intact — if the data is corrupted, GPT can notice the problem and attempt to recover the damaged data from another location on the disk. MBR had no way of knowing if its data was corrupted — you’d only see there was a problem when the boot process failed or your drive’s partitions vanished.
If your Samsung Evo 250 GB drives need refreshing or formatting that often, it's time for new SSDs that don't have that problem.

" "

So maybe it is something with my SSD if it get corrupted on MBR partition and needs refreshing? Like i said on GPT partition all is fine.

This:" — if the data is corrupted, GPT can notice the problem and attempt to recover the damaged data from another location on the disk. MBR had no way of knowing if its data was corrupted "

So if system get corrupted on MBR it is something with my ssd? But on GPT all is fine and no issues .

That person said:"If your Samsung Evo 250 GB drives need refreshing or formatting that often, it's time for new SSDs that don't have that problem."

I reformat and install again clean Windows 10 this time using GPT parition. And all is fine no problems. But i want to know only , if ssd cause that issue before format or not.
I can explain. Listen again , hehe :) Thank you .

So..............

Like we know i had fresh clean install of Windows 10 Pro in MBR scheme .
Task manager and event viewer was not responding and some of the applications was not responding too. I was clicking and nothing happening.
And last issue.

Almost everytime when i was clicking start test in 3dmark 11, my system become unresponsible and laggish. I cant do almost everything. I cant restart system because START button stop working.

Also last question to you . Somebody said to me :" I think it was the clean install of Windows 10 that solved your problem, not switching from MBR to GPT.

SMART is not perfect. There's plenty of stories of HDDs sounding like jackhammers while SMART reported all was well."

What you think there can be some issue of my ssd or its fine?
