Windows 10 Fastboot hurts Performance "AMD Only??"

So a few percent difference, its a weird one for sure :)

Fornite Main menu is a good performance test, it pushes GPU into max clocks and is constant.

Fast startup off 92fps
Fast startup on 83fps

In games I seeing around 10fps difference. It really is a weird one, would like to see some Nvidia guys post some results. Maybe it is only a VEGA issue.

Yer know just pressing and holding the Delete button gets you into a modern BIOS these days, works with my z170 board anyway.

I just ran a quick Firestrike Standard test with Fast Startup On and Off..

What a surprise..

On - 12 473 https://www.3dmark.com/fs/15477112
Off - 12 473 https://www.3dmark.com/fs/15477178

Do i need to have Fast Boot Enabled or Disabled in the BIOS.. i have noticed if i disable Fast Boot in BIOS, on my next visit to enable it again, it wont let me. Good job i have a profile set up in my BIOS right :p

Ohh man i feel a idiot for not even trying that haha. Thanks for the heads up mate!

On or off makes about 3 secs startup difference on Gigabyte X399 motherboards. But it also has other benefits if you disable you can enter the Bios at power on. With it enabled its impossibly to enter the Bios until its disabled again on X399 Gigabyte mobos.

On my Gigabyte board (not an X399 mind you) it’s impossible to get into the BIOS after a shutdown but since restart does a full non-fast reboot you can do it that way... or hold shift and go through the Windows menus to get to it

Also means it’s possible if the system crashes and needs a hard reset

Not bothered to do any before or after tests but games seem a bit smoother on my 290 since turning off fastboot, especially bf 1, doesn't seem to be as many fps drops.

Not noticed any difference in start up time either so will turn this off from now on regardless.

Be great if you could find the time to post a benchmark. Only one game of your choice.

windows fast boot has caused issues for Nvidia and Gsync in the past. Don't know if it is still the case but I wouldn't be surprised if it was causing other issues as well.
