lost on a big planet.
Having an issue with an windows 10 update (Feature update Version 1903).
It will install up to 25%, then tells me that AVG Antivirus isn't compatible with Windows 10.

Not had AVG on for a couple of years and I have used the uninstall programs on their website to delete any remains that were left behind after I uninstalled it.

Any ideas on how I can proceed?

it sound like that there is a AVG reference somewhere in the registry which win10 1903 can detect ...whatever uninstaller/cleaner program they had on their website did you trying using it in safemode.. a lot of time is you don't do it in safemode it doesnt remove everything gets removed also look to see if that program left a log file and see if there is any errors...i have heard ccleaner is good for getting rid of obsolete files in registry but i have never used it...

Try this.

I'm guessing that you have used both AVG Clear and AVG Remover? If not both, then try both restarting for each run. I'd also trying running them in Safe Mode to be sure. Then look in C:\ and delete any folders called AVG Clear or AVG Remover.

Also delete any AVG folders from C:\Program Files (x86), C:\Program Files and C:\ProgramData - look inside the Common Files folders in the previous three paths too for any remains of AVG.

Then use regedit to find any traces of AVG and delete any related keys.

Finally run CCleaner in safe mode and run the registry cleaner as well as a general clean up.

If you don't get any further, I would be tempted to do a clean install.

After many goes with the AVG clear & removing, using regedit sorted it out, didn't realise how much is left behind after uninstalling.
All sorted now thank you for the help.
