Windows 10 force updating graphics drivers recently, can cause problems

Think that's all the Chinese playing PUBG.

Pretty big drop in Windows 10 alongside it through - wonder if its somewhat down to the fall update I've seen quite a few people commenting about going back to Windows 7 due to issues after that update with older hardware, etc.

Both of my Windows 10 tablets I've had to recover 3 or more times as well since that update due to things like logging in and then nothing just goes to a black screen and the only thing that will render is task manager or the start button becoming incredibly delayed - like 2+ minutes before clicking on it or on something within it before it reacts, etc.
 
I bought windows 7 home, upgraded to 8 pro then took the free upgrade to 10. With all the problems with FCU and the trouble they’re causing with nvidia cards i’m Thinking about going back to 7 or 8.1 but will I need to buy a new copy or will I be able to just do a fresh install with my old disks??

If I do need to buy again has anyone used lizengo? They seem to have keys for £14 which seems ok...

did MS done something to help users (so you can block specific driver updates)

maybe this is old information - but MS were discussing it in fall creators update/1709 context.
 
Problem is it will still push the driver/update through whenever it feels like it even though it might give you some temporarily respite - despite what it says on the tin.

I honestly doubt whoever is involved in making the decisions on this lives in the real world.

Wushowhide
When all else fails – or if you want to hold the Win10 1709 upgrade at bay while you install other updates – Microsoft’s wushowhide utility works great. You want to hide the “Feature update to Windows 10, version 1709.” The trick is that you can’t hide the “Feature update to Windows 10, version 1709” update until it actually appears on your machine — and it may not get pushed to you for days, weeks, or even months.

To prevent any nasty surprises, you should run wushowhide before you switch off any of the 1709-blocking techniques mentioned in this feature. If 1709 is being offered on your machine, wushowhide lets you “hide” the patch while you use Windows Update to get your other patches brought up to date. ....

More like potentially 365 days of respite with a fair few other potential complications. Some feature updates will change just enough things get reapplied again, etc.
 
Funny, I never used to despise Windows 10 until 1709. Sure auto updates were annoying but 1709 is a pain in the ass.
