Hi guys,

When I first setup my laptop a few months back, I chose the 'microsoft account' option and set it up with the email etc...

Now I've been reading about the whole privacy thing I think I would rather have a local account.

Whilst it seems easy enough to do, not one of the videos or links I have read actually state what happens afterwards.

Are all my files going to be in the same place?

Can I use the 'Store' and use apps?

Many thanks!

You can have a local account and still login to the store where by you'll use your Microsoft account. So the privacy will probably be about the same with less convenience though this is only a rough guess (the privacy aspect - I've not looked into Local vs Local and Microsoft Account vs Microsoft Account).

Your files, unless saved in 'Documents', 'AppData', 'Downloads' or any other redirected place will still be in the same place.

Is there way to sign in to individual apps like in Window 8 rather than signing in to all Microsoft services?

I have a local account but when signing in for one of the few MS apps that I use it seems to want to sign in for everything which I'd rather not do on the work laptop.
