windows 10 not activating

Right, firstly I installed windows 8.1 pro, then all available updates, checked to ensure it was activated, under system it states that it is activated but doesn't list my key, double checked by re-activating via both internet and phone, product key still isn't showing up, any idea what might be causing it? As this is the second fresh install, last time after upgrading to 10 via win update it wouldn't activate, don't want to waste any more of my time with reinstalling again with the same results, tempted to just switch to Linux and steam os, at least they work properly.....
 
It sounds like the activation servers are being hammered.

I did the upgrade... wouldn't activate. Did a fresh Windows 8.1 install then upgraded again... wouldn't activate.

It was only afterwards that it seems the activation issues really kicked in. Spamming the activate button seemed to work for some, but last I checked it sounds as though even that won't work.

I've rolled back to my old 8.1 install until things settle down and I'll try again in a few days.
 
having the same issues and i am expecting it to be windows servers getting hammered.

I did an upgrade install from Windows 7. no clean install as its all working fine at the moment.

Will see how the next few days pan out.
 
I upgraded this morning from Win7 and it activated fine. I decided to a fresh install from USB and now it wont activate, says the key is blocked :(
 
You don't need a key to re-install once it's activated. Just install with no key and it will activate itself again.


If you did this and it won't activate, it is probably just the servers taking a hammering - everyone clicking on activate over and over again doesn't help either :D
 
I'd have to agree with the servers getting hammered. Having the same problem here with not activating.

But all in all the upgrade went very smooth and only had to reinstall my antivirus (Eset NOD32) out off the many programs i use.

EDIT: Just basically bashed the "Activate" button and after 20+ attempts it is now activated :D

HELP... Windows 10 wont activate i am getting the error 0xC004F034

People are reporting that this a load issue on the servers and after trying for a while it does activate. (This has been confirmed now)
Pushing activate repeatedly until it work's seems to work for most people. Be aware it might take something like 20 tries

Ok im actually a little confused. After I upgraded and decided to do a fresh USB install I used produkey to find my key since i couldn't find my Windows 7 box and disc.

I found the box just now and my original Windows 7 key is not the same as the one Produkey said. I tried activating using my original Win7 key but that fails too.

I have no idea which key i should be trying to activate.

After its activated you no longer need a key.

When your doing the fresh install SKIP the key screen. When windows goes online it will activate. It works on hardware ID now.
 
I upgraded from win7 and it won't activate at the moment. Not going to worry about it unless it still hasn't worked after a few days when the servers have calmed down a bit.

EDIT: Just spammed the button and it has now worked :)

there is issues with them not activating and giving a error code, just keep spamming activate and mine worked after 6-7 attempts.

most prob down to the amount of people going to W10
