Bit out of touch with the software..

I have a flash drive with windows 11 and one with windows 10.

is it worth going to 11? If so is it easy enough to setup, when I had my computer last year, it was a big faff trying to get the compatibility going!

I have a usb with W11 on it from about a year ago. Was going to use that. Will probably need like a terabyte of updates though

is that ok? Or am I best getting a more up to date installer?

This is what worries me about windows 11. Out the box compatibility.

Will my hardware I order support it?

Hence why I was considering w10.

pc up and running today! :)

one thing I cant seem to sort is removing the PIN login, before it takes you to the desktop..

I have tried the settings but the button to "remove" the PIN is greyed out??

hey guys,

in Windows 11, does anyone know how the hell to disable PIN code / password so it can boot straight to the desktop. Im secure enough in my own house, with no one to use it, so password is totally unnecessary for me personally.

I think you may need to use a local account instead of your MSFT account to disable password on signin. Should be able to leave the password blank.

Try opening netplwiz and see if the checkbox for "Users must enter a password.... Blah blah blah" is there. Uncheck it if it is.

thanks, i have done this now. but when I click "apply" settings its asking to set a new username and password.

What will happen to the account (one im using atm) if I "create" a new user??

Got another 1tb Nvme drive on the way for games storage..

im going to do a fresh install of W11 again and use the main Nvme drive solely for apps and so..

what I am wondering is if I will need another licence code even though no new hardware like mobo etc is being installed..

or if it does ask for actication, cam I just re input the code I bought in the first place? It’s for W11 pro edition.
