Windows 10 or 11?

I've just received the last few bits form for 13700k build.

Is there any benefit to upgrading to W11 from 10?

Also, can anyone list the top 5 programmes essential for system monitoring and overclocking?

My last PC was a 4690k where I had CPU-Z, NVIDIA Inspector, MSI afterburner and a few more.

I was using Valley benchmark too previously - have things moved on?

Thanks in advance

You can use either.

If you go Win 11, stop all the telemetry, in OS adverts and other junk with the below app.

There are other apps that do the same. I’ve used this one for ages.

Might as well go 11 at this point, otherwise you'll just have to upgrade anyway when they call time on Windows 10 updates.

I use hwinfo for the sensors. Loading up games tend to break things better than benchmarks, I find.

I use W11 on a gaming machine and find it fine, quite snappy no real issues at all.
Win 11 has excellent gaming performance and uses a lot of new tech over Win 10 but the bloatware, adverts, internet search results, user telemetry reporting and other intrusive and obnoxious aspects really let it down.

I also still prefer OSX if you just want to get some work done and gaming isn't your thing.

I usually turn off as much as I can and use various browsers but tbh I only use the PC for a bit of gaming. I'd rather they had a really lean version and charged a bit more for it. Better still a modular OS that you can just remove the parts you never use.

I would recommend Windows 11, for the 13700K Intel CPU. The scheduler (in Windows 11)for the CPU is geared to take advantage of the cores on the 13700k, whereas Windows 10 is lacking in that apparently.

If I had a 13700k, I would be using Windows 11, however Windows 10 is fine for the 5800X3D, which is the chip I own. I also despise the new start menu on Windows 11...But would be forced to use it if I had your CPU. For gaming and multi-tasking.

Win 11 for sure. Its certainly snappier and so far hasn't bogged down like 10 after some use and installing/uninstalling etc.
