With Windows 10 Parental Controls is no more and they want you to use Family Safety which is web based. I have tried it before on Windows 7 as its not OS tied and it was rubbish. eg blocking Cbeebies for under 7's !!
BT Net Protect which we also used as we got it for free now fails to install.
Its early days but anybody come up with a suitable alternative ?

What router have you got?

Or maybe DNS blocking with Opendns?

opendns settings:

No thats not good enough.

Actually it was staring me in the face. Kasperky IS 2015 perfect. Bought 3 user licence £15.

Controls internet usage by time, eg restrict 1 hr per day and also controls PC access 24/7. Includes usual web filtering etc and so simple to use. Excellent.

Depending on what ISP you have you can limit the time online via controls on the Router

BT Home hub does it by device.

Unless you share a PC and with to do it via user access control,

Looks like it is still there, or does it not do what you want anymore?

No I dont want to setup email address, password, phone number associated for security for my child, or be able to manage it using their website. Preventing my child from having an email address restricts access to various social media websites and other things in a lot more ways than preventative software, if you think about it you ant sign up or access a lot of things nowadays unless you have an email address.
Its the Family Safety thing they brought out ages ago in a slightly updated guise that I tried before it is very annoying and I dont like the way you use it via IE.
KIS 2015 Parental Controls is working fine for me now Thank you very much MS.
