So last night I shut my PC down, took ages to shut down for reasons unknown.
Unable to sleep, I turned it back on at 2:30 this morning and it would not boot to windows only to the spinning dots and sit there.
It Would boot into all 3 safe modes so I spent a lot of hours trying to troubleshoot the problem eventually conceding defeat at 5am and decided enough was enough and to just wipe and start over.
I duly booted to my Usb and opted for a clean install and after several failed attempts getting to the same spinning logo and aware that all my data was gone (mostly drivers and essential apps)
At that point is though sod it and tried win 8.1 and boosh installed no problems although activating was not easy given the tiny teeny code on my oem sleeve I was back and running by 8:30.
Now my system has been running perfectly fine untill last night the only things I changed were
Taking ownership of my SSD including all the system files.
Renaming cortana again to get rid of the damn things
Updated to the lates Crimson drivers
Neither of which I would have thought cause the issue. I would like to go back to win10 if only for the dx12 but really reluctant to do so having ran 12 months error free on 8.1
Would be interested in any thoughts or opinions as to possible causes was nothing that stood out when I checked the event logs etc.
