Hello, just having a few problems after i installed Windows 10, im hoping a few of you guys have found solutions, cause im starting to wish i had stuck it out with 7 for now untill dx12 games started coming out.

I dont have any of these problems if i use the IGFX chip on the CPU btw, only using my 290x cards.

First problem i have a lot of online streams just wont play, at first i thought it was just chrome not liking windows 10, but ive noticed it even in IE also.

Second thing i noticed right after i finished the install was the screen flashing black, i thought it was just browsing but i started to notice on the desktop too, it never does it gaming, only when in 2d mode.

The third and biggest problem is now im getting restarts on boot, some times a few seconds after post, sometimes it loads into windows then after a few seconds hte screen goes black, then it either stays like that or it restarts the PC again. This has lead to me been stuck on the IGFX for now untill i can find a problem.

This is the first time ive ever upgraded a windows install, ive always done a fresh install in the past, i dont know if its leading to all these problems, or if its just a coincidence so i thought i better make a thread before i just give in and download a USB install (providing theyve done a win10 version) and wipe my SSD and install from fresh, or even go back to win7 as the PC was working perfectly before i hit the upgrade button.

Cheers for any help.

Re: The streams

I can only think Windows 10 firewall might be aggressively interfering with your internet? I turn mine off because my Asus router no doubt has better protection.

Personally I would advise a fresh install anyway though.

Cheers m8, that sorted that out.

I found a few threads with people complaining about screen flashes after installing windows 10, looks like its a bug with UPLS. Even though we turn it off in AB it doesnt seem to turn it off, so i turned it back on, then back off again restarted and all the black screens have stopped.

Im gonna go do a few restarts and see if its booting ok, but atm its looking good.

I had the opposite m8, i tried the 15.7.1 drivers and GTA crashed constantly, but as soon as i went back to the windows drivers it worked perfect again.

Anyway the booting problem is still persisting, its getting to AO on the bios LED then powering down. I think thats the point wheres its accessing the SSd looking for a boot.

Im downloading a USB boot tool for windows 10 and im gonna have to try a fresh install i think. Im gonna give it one go and if it doesnt go well im just gonna get trusty old win7 out untill theyve ironed a few more of the bugs out of win10.

Found the cause of the black screen on startup, i was just setting up my overclock profiles, and i realised the voltages were not applying. I saw i hadn't disabled ULPS, with crossfire the voltages dont save unless its disabled, no idea why but it was the same on my old cards so it is what it is. Anyway clicked it, restarted and all the problems start again, im thinking "hmm, that cant be a coincidence" so i started safemode, disabled AB and restarted the PC, and then enabled ULPS everything working as normal again.

So now i need to know how i can save an overclock voltage without disabling ULPS...any ideas?
