ok,

after long deliberation on my part, i've decided to go for windows 10 pro retail usb for £60.

decent price, it seems.

question:

if i understand correctly, if it is the retail version, then i can register that copy on a new pc (mobo) if something goes wrong with the current pc, correct?

i read that when you activate it on a new pc, it automatically "de-activates" the copy that is on the older pc.

if this is correct, then i will go ahead with this.

That is pretty cheap, are you certain it is genuine? Retail means you can install it on one device at a time but your license does not die with the hardware and can be removed and installed elsewhere.

the listing said that it is.

i guess that it would not be in their best interests to plump for false advertising.

That is almost certainly not going to be genuine. Forget the "false advertising" part of things - is this a large reseller?
Pro Retail should sell for around the £170 mark with Amazon occasionally selling for around £140 - £150.
You may well get a box and you may well get a USB key with Windows on - but I doubt very much you are getting the full box product for that money.
