Windows 10 Shutdown Problem?

Hey,

so as of lately windows 10 fails to shut my system down completely - it will sit there with fans/lights still on I've found myself having to power it off by holding the power-button and although this doesn't seem to be causing any bootup issues after shutting down this way it's still a little irritating none the less.

anyone have any ideas how to fix this? I've tried the various suggestions seen already from disabling the fast boot option in the power options area to rolling back the intel management driver in device manager but as my system is a new build it will only rollback to driver version 11 or so and not the version 9 suggested in other posts.

I've tried disabling USB selective suspend and unplugging all USB devices as suggested too but that makes no difference.

confused. :confused::confused:

disabling the fast boot option in the power options

Certainly something to try.

I recently fixed a problem with lengthy shutdowns (suddenly it started taking 30 seconds to shut down) on my PC by doing just that - disabling 'fast startup'.

It starts up just as fast, and shuts down in 10 seconds, like it used to.

I tried doing that already, perhaps I worded it wrong but for me it didn't work :(
