Windows 10 some Steam games not working

Hi All,
Just upgraded to Windows and is good, apart from a selection of games not working in steam. Some to go to open and close with no error message. Some crash and give error message. Anyone had this problem?
Games are:
Borderlands 2
The Bureau XCOM Declassified
Cities in Motion
Crysis 2 Maximum edition
The darkness ii
Dead Island
Dead Space
Dwarfs!?
Killing Floor
Magicka
Orcs Must Die
Orcs must Die 2
Serious Sam 3 BFE
South Park the stick of truth
Zeno Clash

Try verify game cache files,run as admin,info here https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335 .

Btw The Bureau XCOM Declassified runs fine,right click on it in game list and run the DX11 version option.

Out of that list I have Killing Floor installed and just tested it and it worked fine here.

I also have Serious Sam 3 BFE and that worked also.

im afraid I don't have any of them games to try on.

the ones I normally load up are all the lego games, csgo, killing floor 2 and have not had a issue with any of them

I've had that issue, but just assumed verify integrity would work.
Asseto corsa was one off the top of my head... Was too lazy to try fix it.

I installed stick of truth on windows 10, and it worked fine!

Download and install physx.

I have nine games from that list so I'll try and test some after work. However as it works for others I suspect this issues is caused by something else.

Got some working with run as admin and verifying cache. But others not working
E.g. The Darkness II not working

The only game i can't get working on Windows 10 is Call of Duty Black Ops 2, has anyone else got the game, and does it work?

RE : Crysis 2. I have it on origin and it says it cant activate on my pc as it thinks I have a different origin account installed :confused:

BO2 dosent launch saying its caught an unexpected handle or something like that

What are the errors?

I had an issue with 'Defiance' saying it couldn't find the executable (it was there!), and an apparent solution was to delete the appcache. It didn't work. In the end I just had to re-download it. All my other games work (although I recently had an issue downloading Fractured Space, but it now works again).

From your list, the games I have and that work are:

Borderlands 2
Crysis 2 Maximum edition
Dead Space
Killing Floor
Orcs must Die 2
Serious Sam 3 BFE

Some say crashed unexpectedly and some just don't give an error message and stop

SOLVED : Compatibility mode was set to Vista in the steam shortcut properties. I unchecked compatibility mode and everything works fine now. How bizarre! I was running 7 before.
