Hi All,

So I installed an SSD drive in my girlfriend's laptop this weekend, and keen to understand if I need to change any Windows settings to support the drive.

For example on my Mac I was advised to install TRIM enabler, is an equivalent required for Windows 10?

Also, should disk defragging be disabled to extend the life of the drive or is this not a problem?

Any other setup tweaks I should carry out or is it just good to go?

Thanks

what i normally do is the following

- lower down the virtual memory to save on space
- disable system restore to save more space
- disable indexing services as i never use the search option in windows.
- make sure disk defrag is disabled.
- make sure the sata ports are set to ACHI in the bios and not IDE\RAID
