Okay, so last night i put my computer into hibernate.

Started it up this morning, gpu temp went upto 90c but with gpu usage at 1-5%. Gpu clock kept jumping from low to high very quickly and all my monitors (3) kept flickering every few seconds when the clock would fluctuate. What is causing this issue??

The last time this happened is when i updated to the fall creators update last year. The only fix that worked was a complete fresh install then reapply the creators update. I assumed the issue was a dodgy update by windows. But now this issue has come back without any updates.

Current spec
windows 10 64 home with latest updates
5820k
evga 1080ti sc2 hybrid

I've just had to do a fresh install of windows, i first tried 'reset' while keeping my documents and preferences but the issue continued so i done a 'reset' while wiping the C:\ drive which has fixed the issue.

So, any ideas?? Could this be a gpu bios issue? I'm sure this issue will happen again but i'm unsure what triggers it or why.

Before the fresh install i uninstalled the gpu drivers in device manager and it did not work.

Hibernate and sleep hasn't worked on my PC properly since the first creators update, so now I just don't use it, reported it endless times with every update when I was on the insider program and just gave up in the end.

I agree. Just don't put it in Hibernate. I have had many PC's with many different versions of Windows that for some reason or other glitch when Hibernate is used. Best advice is just don't use it.

I've never seen a system resume from hibernate properly - even when they appear to at first you often find say the NIC start acting oddly 30 minutes after coming out of hibernation, etc.

Total waste of time - MS pretty much ignored 60% of the top 10 issues on the feedback hub in favour of the feedback that matched with what they wanted to see.
