I upgraded to W10 from 8.1 when it was released and I encountered a problem where the PC would become unresponsive after an extended period left alone, say 30mins-1hr.

I performed a fresh install last weekend and the problem remains, the machine is only set to put the monitor and my drives to sleep after inactivity.

Any ideas, have I missed something?

Spec:
i5-3570K
Gigabyte Z77X-D3H
16GB Patriot Viper "Black Mamba" Generation 3 DDR3 PC3-12800C9
KFA2 GeForce GTX 970 OC Silent "Infin8 Black Edition" 4096MB
SuperFlower Leadex GOLD 750W

Not currently overclocked.

Unresponsive in what way? I found I can't wake my monitor up by using the keyboard since Windows 10... If I don't left click the mouse it doesn't wake up.

That's more of an annoyance than anything!

Is the power light indicating it is hibernating or just frozen?

I was writing on my phone, it made sense at the time!

It wakes up and you can move the mouse around, but it won't let you click on anything.

I have to press the power button to shut down and sometimes it doesn't even shut down properly so I have to reset.

I have found this recently as well... but only in the past few days. Kinda coincides with me getting the insider build 10547 but that might be misleading.

I have found I either need to do control alt delete to get the lock screen to show, or just have to press the power button (not good).

Have you installed AV? Could be this causing the issue.

Applied all windows updates?
Installed all drivers?

Have Avast installed, same as on my laptop which is also running W10.

All updates applied and nothing is showing as uninstalled on device manager.
