Windows 10 Upgarde

I'm about to upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 10. I have a Windows 10 ISO and USB ready. Can I do a clean install or do I need to do the upgrade first time round?

Backup your data and go through the upgrade process.

You need to upgrade first. I don't think your license key will activate it otherwise. You can do a clean install but only over the top of 7 first as an upgrade.

You can do a clean install, it will accept your 7 key.

This used to be the case, but one of the benefits of the November update to Windows 10 is that it now accepts 7 or 8 keys straight from a fresh install, no upgrade needed anymore.

Absolutely right, provided the USB installer was created after the November update was released.
