Windows 10 upgrade from 7 and new disk

HI, I have a new 500gb SSD arriving today and want to use the free upgrade to windows 10 from 7 but my current windows installation is on a full 128gb SSD.

What is the best way to do this?

Do I need to mirror my windows installation first (if so how?) and then upgrade when on the new drive?

I was afraid that was the best route. I'm lazy and don't want to have to install all my software again but I know it's right

Yeah, I was thinking clone to new drive and do the upgrade there. Sound ok?

Thanks all, cloned and updated. All seems fine and I have all my unnecessary junk along for the ride.
