I've finally got round to upgrading my desktop PC from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10, but so far I've been unable to make it work.
I started by using the icon in the bottom right of the screen and clicking on the upgrade now option. This created a restore point and then rebooted back into Windows 7.
I've been to the MS media creation page and clicked the upgrade now button with the same result as above. I've downloaded the media creation programme and tried the upgrade this PC option, which gets to about 23% and then a box comes up just saying installation failed, no error codes.
I've also used the media creation tool to make a USB copy. If I run this from Windows 7 I get to 23% again and the installation failed message appears again.
I can boot with the USB stick, but there's no option to upgrade. I believe I need to upgrade to get the Windows 10 license?
I've tried deleting the Windows 10 folder so that it downloads again and stopping all the startup programmes, but nothing has worked.
At the moment the only option I can see is to delete everything and then install Windows 7 and then try the upgrade again. Is there any other suggestions before I go down this route please?
Thanks,
Danny
