Hi

So after yesterdays travails I got my drivers updated and Windows 7 SP1 installed.

I've just started trying to upgrade to win 10 on a H81 intel chipset using oboard graphics. It starts ok but when i go away and come back te monitor screen is black no input.

I force a restart and windows reboots and gives me tbe safe start option. I go for normal.

Win7 boots and the win 10 updater is available on the desktop. So I run it agai and at somepoint during the download or maybe the install screen is black no input.

This time I've left it running as the hdd light keeps occasionally flickering. Any advice would be welcome.

Thx for tbe response, I'll try that if things go pear shaped.

Update hdd led hasn't flickered in a while so rashly I hit the restart button on case.

PC has booted and seems to be copying files and upgrading windows in the post boot screen but before windows log on phase. I can only guess after the download something didn't play nice with graphics drivers. I'll have to see how this plays out currently at 30% upgraded.

Edit: it seemed to work out ok. I don't know why I had the issue, I can only guess the Intel on-boardgraphics driver didn't play nicely with the Win 10 upgrade but sorted itself out by the end. Panic over, it will be another 5 years till I do an OS install no doubt now.
