windows 10 usb not booting ( not reconised)

made a win 10 usb but pc wont reconise it in the bios for boot. used the tool and the ports are enabled on the pc. any suggestions how to get it to work.

Maybe just a bad USB stick or compatibility issue. Is it a typical fat32 mem stick? What size and have you tried a different one at all?

Oh and do you have it plugged in when you are amending the boot order in the BIOS?

Is there and existing OS on the PC? You can run it from within thah rather than booting from it.

Try switching from UEFI boot to Legacy boot, you will need to disable Secure Boot to do this.

How did you make the bootable USB? Is it with the Microsoft toolkit?

yeah it was with the media creation tool. tried 2 USBs. eneded up making a disk. in the bios for boot disks it said USB zip disk, HDD and DVD were available but USB device was not. it was strange as have used that usb for my current main pc

what USB ports are you using, USB 3 or 2? if your using 3 try a USB 2 port
