windows 10 usb to serial

Upgraded from w7 to W10 an my usb to serial adapter does not work. I have not looked for W10 drivers for my existing adapter a prolific or prolific clone but it worked fine for w7. Any recommendations for one for W10?

From personal experience I feel your pain. my friend had Windows 10 on his laptop and was trying to use USB - Serial for his ECU but just no joy. I ended up swapping his hdd in his laptop, installed windows 7 and it worked perfectly..

I "Think" you can setup a VM with windows 7 for this purpose and it works as a friend did the same with his system for a test.

I recommend you look for a driver.

The same one you were using for W7 should work unless you upgraded from x86 to x64.

It seems the new Prolific drivers (including the built in W10 ones) can detect fakes.
