Something on windows 10 keeps using all my bandwidth and making my in game ping 1000+.

What is it and how do I stop it?

I thought I turned off all updates and stuff but something is killing my connection randomly throughout the day.

It never happened on old windows.

edit: FYI I only have 4.5 meg connection

Hate this about Windows 10 - really hard to manage your internet connection - especially if you are on something with an allowance or metering :S

you can set, either you wireless or wired/ethernet connection as metered in 10 and that should stop updates (at least it successfully held back the Anniversary update for me)
I assume this stops the store too, but I had disabled/uninstalled those apps.

You then just release it, at some time convenient to you, if you want it to do its stuff. ;)

Thanks didn't know you could set it for ethernet :) I had a quick read of it and looks like that covers all updates.

Does seem a bit of a mess about but the instructions seem good, shame Microsoft doesn't let you set ethernet as metered without the edit.

Not foolproof (some updates seem to come through anyway) and messy if you swap between metered and unlimited regularly but better than nothing.
