Long story short got a new graphics card today. After cleaning the older drivers off and fitting a new card windows wouldn't boot. So I did a clean install had a few problems but finally got it installed. However now the boot time is insane 30mins plus on every reboot.
Os is installed to my ssd running with ahci enabled.
The windows install was created by the windows 10 tool to my usb drive. Running the latest version of Windows 10 pro
Any ideas?

What issues were there? I'd assume it a hardware fault somewhere. As you've just had a new graphics card, it could be that. It could also be driver related but if you're having issues setting up windows I'd get my old card out and see if windows runs fine with that then, do the same again with the new graphics card. If it doesn't install correctly you've found the problem.

Cleaned the using latest version of d3.
After that it just wouldn't boot past the black screen with the windows logo and spinning white circle.
When I tried to re install windows the first few times after booting from usb where you normally get language options I was just getting the blue back ground and after 20mins or so it would being up the language/keyboard options so I could carry on. It copied the files over fine and started installing fine until the first reboot where it would just sit on the same black windows logo screen.
I left it like this for 45 mins the went to work, my wife messaged me to say it had came on so I talked her through the rest of the install and it got to the desktop. This was using the on board display and my vga monitor.
Got the latest nvidia drivers from the site and installed them.
Rebooted and set the main graphics to pci express again but once again extremely long boot times.

well ive got home now and it works fine, one thing i noticed though is somebody had knocked my pc bending the usb stick i used to upgrage almost vertically. never checked this before so maybe it was causing issues i dont know but i pulled it out and restarted the pc booted in seconds..
thanks for the help and suggestions guys
