This seems to stem from the Anniversary Update seeing as I haven't installed anything else on the C: drive for ages nor have I changed any hardware!

I turned the PC on the other day and it kept resetting every 5 seconds or so before I even got to the POST screen but that was sorted by me powering off & on again. When I then got into Windows, I could move the mouse but I couldn't click anything and nothing on the keyboard worked either.

I reset the machine again but now I only get as far as the Windows splash screen and the screen then just goes black. The lights from my G15 come on but then turn off & then the light on my monitor starts flashing like it's no longer receiving any input. I can boot into Safe Mode without issue and the mouse and keyboard works fine.

I tried rolling back the Windows build and this let me boot into Windows but after maybe a minute or so, I could't click with the mouse or use the keyboard and then after I reset, I was stuck at the splash screen yet again! I've even tried resetting Windows back to it's original settings with my files kept intact but the issue persists.

Help :(

I'd say the update of windows may be a coincidence and you could actually have an issue with hardware. Try a clean install of windows and see if that helps.

It does seem like a pretty big coincidence seeing as I wasn't getting any BSODs or anything else!

Anyway, I took the drive out and put it in my caddy to get some files off it and wipe it which was fine, I installed Windows and was in the process of downloading some drivers when the screen went black though the hard drive light continued to flash so it was doing something (saving the drivers as they downloaded I'm guessing). I pressed reset and again I get as far as the splash screen before my G15 goes off and the monitor goes to standby mode.
