Hey all I'm looking to configure a PC for a friend on the OCUK website, and for the operating system I chose windows 10. Does this come preinstalled or on a disk? And if it's on a disk does that mean I have to buy a optical drive with the PC? Many thanks

if you have a working system you can use the media creation tool and download it and put it onto a usb stick and install it that way using the key that comes with the disc.

this way you should also get a fairly up to date version

Yeah it wasn't for me, it was for a mate whose buying it for his son, they both have no experiance with PCs so I probably will just add in the DVD writer and windows 10 disk for them. Thanks guys!

Then he's going to have that ugly useless drive in his PC for the next 3-8 years.
Why don't you just throw the Win10 installer on a USB stick for them? (Not that I can imagine anybody with computer skill so low that they wouldn't be able to accomplish this themselves... not anybody who has any business installing and configuring windows anyways).

it may be worth buying a USB stick and using the media creation tool yourself to prepare it for them. Then buy the windows 10 key from OCUK.
