I had no choice as new install... how can I unisntall it and go back to 23..... it absolutely sucks.

You will need to do a fresh install with a older version of Windows (23H2), this may help locating one. (Rufus only offers 24H2 now)

I used this guide to disable the update for as long as possible.

I did try that and didn't work didn't notice I also needed the other app as well. Teach me for not reading and just mashing the refresh button.
Insider programme has kicked in at last and I'm now on 23h2
Its only going to be safe to install once they remove recall from it so until this happens the answer is no!I was just about to ask if this is safe to install yet, but I've just checked Windows Update and it looks like it's just installed in the background and is pending a restart, so I guess I'll find out soon enough.
Turns out it actually hadn't installed yet so I paused it and have just done the policy change featured in the video @freddie64 posted to remain on 23H2 for the forseeable.

I used the Chris Titus tool to disable recall on my 24H2.
Yeah, even though its disabled its still there and god knows when Microsoft will decide to activate it without you knowing via a Windows update and it left to its own devices
I think a lot of people have had the same experience and done the same thing
