Hi thanks for looking.

I wanted to try Windows 7 for gaming. Just gaming and have Windows 11 for other stuff. The problem I'm having is I install Windows 11 then install Windows 7 and Windows 11 disappears there's no bootloader options. So I install Windows 7 then Windows 11 and Windows 7 vanishes. If I look on the drive both installations are present but Windows is not configuring the bootloader to show both versions? Any ideas please?

Just use Windows 11 for gaming surely? It works perfectly fine.

Windows 7 is a 12 year old OS, it's out of support, is a security risk and there's no need to still be using it.

On the insider program Windows 11 was as good if not better than Windows 10 for gaming BUT after installing Windows 11 release its not as good plus I have some older games that run a lot better on Windows 7. I know it's a security risk that's why I intend on using it for gaming only with no network connection.

Sounds like you’re installing dual boot on same drive. If there’s no solution, perhaps install each OS on a separate drive and use Boot Manager option in Bios to choose which drive to boot from on start up?

This is the safest way

Install each OS separately with only the drive for that OS connected.
Then once both are installed you can reconnect them both, then set the BIOS boot order to whichever you use most, but hit the boot menu key (e.g. F11) to boot the other OS.

Try using easybcd to add it
To the boot record
Or look in msconfig as another option
Ideally as said 2 drives is preferable rather than partition
But guess if you had 2 drives you would have
Used them
With 2 drives you don't even have to use the bios
Can just press the relevant F key to pick
Which to boot from

Yeah I have always disconnected all the drives
Or disabled them in the bios
Other than the one installing windows to
But now with nvme/m2 drives
It's not so easy as with sata/ide
Especially if got 3 of them and all under heatsink
And the bios doesn't allow disabling those

Other options for the op
Use install media and try the bootrec commands
From CMD prompt
Though have found those less successful
Usually tried those if it's not booting at all
Easybcd usually just allows adding a new entry
Since you seem to be able to reach desktop
