Hi all,

I've just built a new PC but I'm struggling to get Windows installed on it.

I've tried various settings within the bios but either result in:

1. Inserting the USB device with windows which then causes my other USB devices to stop working
2. Managing to get into the boot options mode and selecting my USB device, which then brings to me to the main Windows installation screen of picking my language etc. but still disables my USB devices so I cannot select any options

I've made sure I've selected the correct options in the bios such as TPM etc.

At this point I hadn't installed my graphics card as I'm taking it from my previous build so I was using the integrated graphics, someone said that could cause issues so I installed my graphics card to still have the same issues.

I've changed settings for legacy USB devices etc. and also tried installing Windows 10, but it doesn't even get to the same screen (just brings up a blank screen).

Majority of tries result in a spinning wheel before the usb ports die.

I've also upgraded the BIOS to the latest version, amended XHCI, tried multiple usb pens.

I’m trying to use a Samsung 980 Pro if possible? Not sure if this is the issue as it was initially appearing as a nvme drive, then not at all until I moved it to another slot.

My motherboard is the B660-F, any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

Hi Murphy,

I’d need to double check the partition (means having to swap the graphics card back to my old machine). But both were done through the windows creator tool, although I may be best using rufus.

I attempted ‘other OS’ as well as ‘Windows’ but both didn’t work unfortunately.

My drive is now weirdly showing as RAID although no other devices are installed.

Unfortunately I can’t see an option for that. The only option I find is to enable/disable the SATA controller.

I think there may be an issue with the motherboard as it takes a good 60 seconds to even let me get near the BIOS.

I disabled a setting (can’t remember which now!), but the drive is now showing as nvme, although still not as a boot drive, only option is the USB drive which just hangs when trying to load.
