I shut down my laptop on wednseday night and today when i switched the laptop on windows 11 had installed, i never pressed update, is this possible? How do i go back to windows 10? Thanks guys

Settings -> System -> Recovery -> Go Back
Though with that said, have you given it some time? What don't you like about it?
I find Windows 11 to be all-round better from a performance perspective and the GUI isn't far off 10 now with Microsoft's recent customization options.

Go back to MS-DOS 6.22. Fits onto a floppy.

WIn 10 goes EOL on 14 October 2025 after that you will have to pay for extended support which I think is only for one year.
So the time to move to Win 11 which is great is now!

In more than 30 years of using Windows I've never once contacted MS for support. I'd be surprised if many on this site have.
You probably want some ongoing security patches though?
(for transparency, I am still running Win10 on all of my machines
)

Oh no, don't get me started on Windows updates. I don't want anything to do with Windows personally. I'm fully Linux now,
But if I was on Windows I'd prefer insecure Windows 10 to a secure Windows 11 that records everything I do and shows me unwanted adverts. I'd rather keep control over my own personal computer.

I would do a clean install. That’s a pretty bad virus you have on your machine right nowYes I jest.
The truth is often the funniest comedy - win 11 really is a virus, awful OS.

It's not allowed in EU+UK I think. Win11 users in the US get blasted with ads,
