Windows 11 nearby share issue

Hi everyone, I have a brand new laptop with Windows 11 installed. I am having one issue with Windows, the nearby share option. When I click 'sign in', this error pops up. I have looked at Feedback hub and can see others, (I think), are experiencing the same issue. I am not sure what to do. I don't really want to return the laptop as I don't use nearby share and it doesn't seem to affect the functionality of my device, other than that particular feature. Any advice on what I should do? Should I return the laptop or just ignore it as to be honest I didn't find the issue until I went into the settings.

I have tried sfc /scannow and creating a new user account and this is a fresh install of Wind 11, so I find it hard to believe the error is my end? I have also tried removing the account and registering again.

Cheers!

I wouldn't worry about it personally
Seen plenty other people in here can't get it working too
Cheers, as long as it isn't a hardware fault on my new laptop then that's great. I will live with it, I've also seen on Feedback Hub around 500 users have the same error code, so will just wait for Microsoft to hopefully fix it in a future update.

That's very odd that nearby sharing needs an account to use this. I've never needed to use it but I wonder why they require a log in to share with nearby systems.
I know right? It's annoying. I never use the feature too but the sign in button popped up so I thought I would just do that and that's how I came across the feature not working etc. Thankfully I don't use it.

That's very strange, I just tested it and it works straight away for me and I didn't have to log in.

I clicked Everyone Nearby and it said "Turn on Bluetooth so I did". No login prompt though.

I don't think that login is related to Near By Sharing...

You actually manage to transfer a file?

It definitely is related to nearby share as it pops up on the nearby share area and Microsoft have confirmed it is to do with that.

On my other laptop there is no prompt to login either, it works fine.

Update: restarting the device the login prompt goes away and then appears again after a while. I have looked on the feedback hub and around 500 other users are having the same problem. Basically I have troubleshooted the error and will have to await Microsoft to fix it. But as this is a new laptop I just wanted to ask for advice, there's no point in returning it if other people are having issues too and the store apps all work fine etc. Just wanted to see what you would all do. Cheers.

Also just gone onto my Mum's PC and she has the same issue so clearly to me no point worrying?

It's only a PC no need to worry, it will resolve itself once/if Microsoft decide to fix it.
Until then who are you sharing with?

Is it just ones on your local network?
If so just use Dropbox or something.

For now.
Thank you. I use OneDrive anyway which syncs across all my devices, I was just worried as it's a new laptop and I wasn't sure if this error means the laptop is faulty, like if I should worry or not but clearly I'm getting worked up over a very minor thing aha.

Yeah definitely not something to worry about
I use Bluetooth for small files
Email myself medium files
Large files I connect my mobile device to pc by usb cable
Or plug a flash drive into my phone or tablet and copy them
So it's a minor irritation if nearby sharing doesn't work for you
But plenty options to use instead
Probably if you're lucky and have certain hardware
It will work for you
