Windows 2000 Install

Hi Guys

My IT Teacher has asked me to get two old machines (Pentium II) and build them up for the A-Level group to set-up a simple peer-to-peer network.

One of them had Windows 2000 on already with a 'decentish' spec. The other has Windows 98 on and I have the Windows 2000 disk (all legit and above board).

I insert the Windows 2000 disk on and when it gets to booting from CD and it says 'Failed'.

Any suggestions?

does it try to boot from the cd?

check the boot order in the bios

Where is it failing, from within windows or during the POST process?

I have altered the BIOS to do so and it is failing after 'Updating DMI Pool Data' or something.

Any ideas?

I have been searching the Microsoft website and have found this article http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/prodtech/windows2000/w2kccscg/w2kscgc2.mspx and am going to use the Floppy disk route to install it.
